I just want to clarify something...I chose the name Spurgeon because he is one of my heroes, not because I think I'm anything like him. I'm not. I just love the Gospel he preached because I believe he preached a pure Gospel that was compelling, rich, multi-faceted, yet accessible to anyone. We need more men like C.H. Spurgeon. I also have a great deal of respect and admiration for men like John Piper, Tim Keller, Mark Driscoll, Matt Chandler, Ed Stetzer and men like them who are seeking to preach a pure Gospel in a fresh way to a new generation without surrendering, watering down, or compromising. Some of my dead heroes are Charles Spurgeon, George Mueller, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, C.S. Lewis
